In 2006, OnlyGolf™ put in place its vision with great determination, like the mountain-moving faith, winning the battle effectively. The challenge consisted on the design and construction of a Pitch and Putt in the heart of Madrid City.
An ambitious project that intended to build an installation never before seen in Europe. This objective was achieved when the world's first artificial Pitch and Putt was designed, built and finished by the OnlyGolf™ company . The complex is located on an ancient water tank in the center of Madrid with an entire area of 45.000 m².
The artificial lawn not only succeeded in matching the natural’s grass characteristics, but also permitted more game hours. Beyond that, and more importantly, it brought golf to other type of players, a new public in a whole new urban atmosphere, making golf for everyone a real concept.
The winding 9-hole Pitch and Putt and the driving range emphasized magnificent greens and bunkers.
Independent organisms verified the results: golf experts testified that OnlyGolf's system not only did it match the playability of natural lawn, but also seduced one to play.
This way, the project showed that OnlyGolf ™ conceived the construction of a golf course as a synergistic and holistic ideal which involves design, construction, synthetic grass, durability, maintenance and playability all in perfect balance. A patented and unique system.

Experts believe that the economic and climate considerations of natural lawn make the artificial grass the key to bring this sport to the public.
Firstly, regarding environmental conditions, the usage of synthetic lawn has several obvious changes.
Secondly, artificial grass makes possible for many golfers to have at their disposition surfaces in ideal conditions, no matter how much it is used. Artificial lawn tolerates perfectly the constant and uninterrupted game without risk of deterioration and it is neither affected by rigorous climate.
Thirdly, the water consumption in artificial lawn is practically null, comparing it to the millions of litters used for watering a medium size natural course.
Having in mind the savings and the shortage of water which exist in many areas of the world, synthetic lawn makes it possible for the inconveniences of this sport to become sustainable.
Fourthly, the consumption of fertilizers required for the maintenance of natural courses, apart from these being a cost, they are highly long-term pollutants to both the soil and the water table.

Last but not least, once the artificial lawn is installed, the course will be immediately in disposition for its usage. While a conventional golf course requires between 9 and 12 months before it can be used, for the lawn to develop its optimal conditions.
